Honoring A Legend . . . The Marsh Fisher Executive Boardroom

      June 23, 2014 By Molly

Say goodbye to the Summit Boardroom. Located on the second floor of  CENTURY 21® headquarters in Madison, New Jersey, the room is now officially the Marsh Fisher Executive Boardroom, named in honor of the brand’s late co-founder.

Fisher, an industry legend who is credited with transforming the real estate industry, the practice of franchising existing real estate companies under a singular brand and for his philanthropic alliance with Easter Seals, passed away in 2013.  Much of the structure the industry enjoys today is a result of Fischer’s work in the early days of franchising. He is also credited for the alliance between Easter Seals and the CENTURY 21 System, which is now in its 35th year and through 2013 has raised over $108 million.

During the 2014 C21® Global Conference in March, Rick Davidson, president and chief executive officer of Century 21 Real Estate LLC, pledged to rename the Summit Executive Boardroom to the Marsh Fischer Executive Boardroom as a tribute to the iconic entrepreneur. Attending the global conference from the Fisher family were his wife Barbara; his two daughters, Heidi and Cindy; and Cindy’s husband Douglas Davidson.

During the Easter Seals Reception during Global Conference, Rick Davidson, an avid mountain climber, announced the dedication of   his 2014 “Climb for Kids” for Easter Seals in honor of Marsh. “It seems only fitting for me to honor Marsh and his family in the first ‘Climb’ following his passing,” said Rick Davidson.  To contribute to the “Climb for Kids” please click here. One hundred per cent of the funds raised by the “Climb For Kids” go directly to Easter Seals.

CENTURY 21® Social Creative Content Sweeps Advertising Awards

      June 23, 2014 By Molly

This summer the CENTURY 21® brand celebrated a fourth consecutive win during this year’s advertising awards season collecting a Gold Andy Award, Gold and Silver One Show Pencils and the People’s Choice Award at the Webby Awards for innovative social creative content.

For the past year, the CENTURY 21 social media team has been focused on maintaining the brand’s position as the number one most-trafficked real estate franchise website and providing unique social content that drives conversations and engagement opportunities for CENTURY 21 affiliated brokers and agents.

“These site visits and conversation starters continue to drive brand preference and generate millions of leads for CENTURY 21 professionals,” said Bev Thorne, CMO, Century 21 Real Estate LLC.  “This innovative form of social marketing is topical, timely, and centered on the home.  It has elevated our brand beyond the real estate category and reintroduced CENTURY 21 affiliated agents to an entirely new generation of home buyers and sellers.”

How is the team doing it? By creating shareable social media moments to be seen far and wide, via a mix of content – photos, memes and videos – across the brand’s most popular social channels like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, Instagram and Pinterest.

Throughout the past year, the brand has generated real-time social campaigns celebrating the following:

      • U.S. Soccer Victory Dance – a video victory dance celebrating each time the U.S. Soccer team scores a goal in the World Cup
      • Lawn Invasion – A group of lawn ornaments “Fears the Sign” as their neighborhood friends disappear as the CENTURY 21® SOLD sign goes up in the yards around their homes
      • Easter – something for the littlest ones in the family, a video with footage of the “real” Easter Bunny outside a CENTURY 21 listing
      • Valentine’s Day – a little Barry White spirit with love poem videos to set the mood
      • New Years Day – the launch of the first ever National Stay at Home Day with the help of brand partners Dish and Snuggie
      • Holiday Season – a video series featuring Gingerbread real estate agents selling Gingerbread homes
      • Thanksgiving – a custom rock song for Turkey Day, aptly titled, the Tryptophan Slow Jam. Not only is it a 60’s style throwback, but the tune will remain stuck in your head for days
      • Halloween – a series of haunted house videos with the tagline, “Slightly haunted? Yeah, we could sell that.”
      • The Series Finale of Breaking Bad – a phony listing of Walter White’s house on Craigslist, chockfull of insider show references, as well as a phone number with a voicemail that asked callers to share their thoughts on the finale
      • The Royal Baby – a Facebook post welcoming baby George, and their need to upgrade to a bigger place

“I am very proud of the recognition this work has received,” added Thorne. “However, we are not sitting back as we enter the peak months of the 2014 home buying and selling season. The brand is as committed as ever to putting CENTURY 21 affiliated real estate professionals front and center with consumers in more unexpected, clever and highly sharable ways!”

CENTURY 21 Invites Consumers To “Fall In Puppy Love” On YouTube

      March 27, 2014 By Molly

Today, Thursday March 27th, the CENTURY 21 brand invites you to fall in puppy love with your dream home.

For the entire day, the CENTURY 21 Puppy Cam will take over the YouTube.com home page. The brand is the first national real estate franchise to ever take over YouTube’s front page.

The brand chose March 27th because on this same day last year, there were more real estate searches on Google than on any other day. Knowing that consumers will already be looking for homes online, the brand plans to capitalize on that traffic.

The CENTURY 21 Puppy Cam ties back to the brand’s 2014 television ad series called “Based on a True Feeling,” in which clients liken the experience of working with a CENTURY 21 agent to being surrounded by puppies.

All day today consumers will have the chance to fall in puppy love with the brand not only on the YouTube home page, but also on the CENTURY 21 brand social media channels and on Reddit’s r/Aww section.

Follow all the cuteness on the hashtag #C21PuppyCam.

      USA Bobsled/Skeleton: Training & Preparation

      February 18, 2014 By Molly

The CENTURY 21® System is proud to sponsor the USA Bobsled and Skeleton teams. Yesterday the USA Men’s Bobsled team took the bronze medal in the two man event. This win broke a 60+ year span where the USA team did not medal in this specific event. Congratulations!

Today, team member Nick Cunningham, who rides in the CENTURY 21 sled, talks to us about what it takes to train and prepare for this global stage.

He explains, “We do everything from heavy squats, to heavy dead lifts, to power cleans- all kinds of heavy weight room stuff, all explosive and powerful.”

In this video, Nick details what each person in the sled must do to prepare mentally and physical to have the best run down the track:

5 Zombie-Proof Houses Your Family Won’t Be Caught Dead In

      February 11, 2014 By CENTURY 21

The post-apocalyptic world is upon us and the Kardashians flesh-eating zombies are everywhere, but you’re ready because a CENTURY 21® Agent is in the house.

Our agents are SMARTER. BOLDER. FASTER® than the zombies which means that your family will be safely removed from The Walking Dead.

These CENTURY 21 houses provide a safe haven from the biters:

      1. Zombies can’t swim. The walkers won’t be able to get into this Florida fortress. We know that this is true because we read it on Wikipedia and Wikipedia is always right – that’s a fact. Clearly Wikipedia has correct intel on the skill set of fictional creatures. Sorry, did we just do the equivalent of telling you Santa isn’t real? Sorry, not sorry.

      2. “I knew you were trouble when you walked in. Trouble, trouble, trouble (Taylor Swift, Trouble)!” The biters are scared of horses and, if a ridiculously, ridiculously brave biter tries to enter this home, they won’t be able to because they don’t know how to jump fences.

      3. The walkers are scared of walk ups. Their nickname is an oxymoron and they aren’t happy about it.

      4. Zombies can’t walk up stairs (especially stairs that look like The Exorcist stairs). They also hate isolated woods because they can’t download Google Maps on their iPhones. There is no way they would show up at this house. Like, ever.

      5. Only a Psycho would shower here plus, zombies are scared of water (see point 1).

So, there you have it, five homes your family would never be caught Walking Dead in. Don’t say we never gave you anything.

      For Entertainment purposes only.

      USA Bobsled/Skeleton: Meet Dallas Robinson

      February 7, 2014 By Molly

Today we continue introducing you to the members of the USA Bobsled and Skeleton teams. The CENTURY 21® System is proud to sponsor both teams.

Meet Dallas Robinson, who hails from Georgetown, KY. Dallas started his athletic career in track and field. He was then recruited to play for the USA Rugby team.

After retiring from rugby, Dallas competed in a local track meet, shattering the state record in the 100 meter dash. That success automatically qualified him for the Olympic trials.

On his first trip to Park City, UT for Bobsled try outs, Dallas wound up making the four man Bobsled team. He’s been pushing for pilot Nick Cunningham for the last three years.

Nick and Dallas now also compete in the two man Bobsled event.

Hear more from Dallas in this video:

      USA Bobsled/Skeleton: Sledding 101

      February 6, 2014 By Molly

The CENTURY 21® System is proud to sponsor the USA Bobsled and Skeleton teams. Today we hear from Nick Cunningham, who rides in the CENTURY 21 sled about the basics of a great run.

Nick explains, “We have a start cadence so we know when to hit the sled.” He continues, “You can’t win a race at the start line, but you can definitely lose with a bad start.”

So how do they make sure they get off on the right foot?

They have a very specific order. Nick describes, “The pilot (that’s me), jumps in first. The next teammate jumps in two steps after, the third man right after him, then finally, the break man. The break man is the last to jump in, but the first to actually sit down.”

Watch the team practice their perfect start:

      USA Bobsled/Skeleton: Meet Curt Tomasevicz

      February 5, 2014 By Molly

The CENTURY 21® System is proud to sponsor the USA Bobsled and Skeleton teams. Today we’d like to introduce you to Bobsled team member Curt Tomasevicz.

Curt grew up in Shelby, NB and went on to play college football for the University of Nebraska. He’s become a hometown hero. The town of Shelby put up a billboard in the center of town with his face on it!

In 2006, Curt competed for the gold for the first time. This year will mark this third time at the games.

When asked about the importance of winning in Sochi, Curt said, “The obvious goal is to win another gold medal. Having one gold medal kind of puts things in perspective and gives you the right mind set and the approach to have, but why you get that gold medal might be a bit different. I have a couple teammates right now that don’t have a medal. Most of my motivation is to get them that gold because they deserve to be on that podium as well.”

Hear more from Curt in this video:

Show your support for the team as they had toward that podium by following “CENTURY 21” on Facebook and Twitter.

      USA Bobsled/Skeleton: Meet Emily Azevedo

      February 4, 2014 By Molly

CENTURY 21® is proud to sponsor the USA Bobsled and Skeleton teams. Today we’d like you to meet another member of the Women’s Bobsled Team, Emily Azevedo.

Emily hails from Chico, CA. It was her sister who encouraged her to pursue Bobsled. In fact, she handed her a five dollar bill and offered to be her very first sponsor if she could be brave and try out.

Emily’s parents are also a driving force behind her commitment to the sport. She says, “My parents are my biggest inspiration. My mother is a breast cancer survivor and my father has Type 1 Diabetes. Seeing how tough they are makes me want to push forward.”

When people get discouraged, Emily pumps them up and shouts, “I’m living proof that you can do whatever you want in life. I’m a California girl who bobsleds!”

Watch this video to hear more from Emily:

Cheer for Emily and the USA Bobsled and Skeleton teams by following live updates from CENTURY 21 on Facebook and Twitter.

      USA Bobsled/Skeleton: Meet Johnny Quinn

      February 3, 2014 By Molly

This week we are continuing to introduce you to the members of the USA Bobsled and Skeleton teams who will be competing in Sochi, Russia. CENTURY 21® is proud to sponsor both teams.

Today, meet Johnny Quinn of McKinney, TX. Before entering the sport of bobsled, Johnny was a football player. He was on the roster of the Buffalo Bills, the Green Bay Packers and played in the Canadian Football League.

His first time on the ice in a bobsled was in the four man event at the 2010 Vancouver games. Talk about pressure!

Adding to the challenges, Johnny suffers from motion sickness. He confessed to us that he rides down the track with his eyes closed. Thankfully he’s a break man, not the driver!

Watch this video to get to know more about Johnny:

Want to support Johnny and the team on their quest for the gold? Be sure you’re following CENTURY 21 on Facebook and Twitter.
