This month, CENTURY 21 American Homes announced it has merged with independent Cruse Real Estate, effectively combining two unique business models to create a best-in-class hybrid real estate model in the Long Island and New York metro area. Prior to the merge, CENTURY 21 American Homes was already the top CENTURY 21 firm in the state of New York. The addition of Cruse Real Estate Broker/Owner Michael Kenduck and his team will surely help continue their business success.
We sat down with Mike Litzner, Broker/Owner of CENTURY 21 American Homes, to hear how this merge is going to change their business model and help the newly formed team take on the local market.
C21: Can you tell us about the recent merger?
ML: Cruse Real Estate was a three office firm. They are combining their team into one office, which will become the tenth office of CENTURY 21 American Homes.
C21: Tell us about this new real estate hybrid.
ML: This merger is the bringing together of two niche markets. We are combining two unique business models to create one unique, best-in-class, hybrid powerhouse.
C21: What does the Cruse Real Estate team add to the CENTURY 21 American Homes team?
ML: We are happy to have the Cruse Real Estate team as a part of the CENTURY 21 American Homes family. Michael Kenduck, their broker/owner, will automatically become the number one agent in our company when he joins. He is only 29 years old, but he’s been licensed for eight years and he really embraces technology to elevate his business. He will continue to focus on REOs and short sales.
C21: Will you have new areas of service?
ML: We will be serving the same communities, but different ends of the market. We will be leveraging our footprint across all of Long Island. Combined we will have 450 agents, over 1,600 sides of business and over half a billion dollars of closed deals in 2013.
C21: How is the local market rebounding?
ML: The past year our local market is up 11% year over year. Prices are back up by 8%.
C21: What do you think sets your team apart from the competitors?
ML: Our determination to succeed. We try to be forward thinking and get our arms around the business while still maintaining a personal touch with each of our clients.
C21: Headquartered at 2694 Hempstead Turnpike, Levittown, NY, CENTURY 21 American Homes will continue to provide full-service real estate assistance, specializing in both residential and default sales throughout Nassau County, Suffolk County, Queens County and Brooklyn.
